didnt care much for him as a kid, not the comics at least, but as an adult his ? is the most appealing to me. just finished that no mans land and gates of gotham, I love how the writers find new ways to expand on not only his character but even the city he lives in.

batman never gets boring to me. my fav since I was small

Batman easily has the best stories of any comic character..
-
Awesome, Batman: Dark Knight is probably my favorite series that i have. he currently has too many story lines imo, i dunno if they all are in the same universe or not, hes got Batman, Batman and Robin, Batman Detective, Batman Dark Knight. but the ? dope man. By far has the coolest villains imo. not a fan of all of his side kicks tho.

thats why he's the goat

That Batman Hush storyline was GOAT. Followed up by the Year One

damn you aint playing that hush ? was off the chain. just downloaded that other night to reread by the way.

from a Batman fan and DC head here's the top stories most everyone should know:
The Dark Knight Returns
Year One
Arkham Asylum
The Killing Joke
The Long Halloween
Dark Victory
Hush
A Death in the Family
Batman: Black and White
Son of the Demon
The Cult
and some must-read Elseworld tales featuring Batman:
Moench and Jones 'Vampire Trilogy' (Red Rain, Bloodstorm, Crimson Mist)
Gotham by Gaslight
Superman: Red Son
Kingdom Come
IMO the 70's era is the prime/original era of today's Batman. anything from this decade by Dennis O'Neil and Neil Adams is classic stuff that will get slept on by newer generations, you can't understate how influential these stories were on the character and on comics as a whole. you can find many of these stories in the trade called Batman: Tales of the Demon which is a compilation of the original Ras Al Ghul stories from this era.
also check out JLA: Tower of Babel or watch the new film JLA: Doom -
Batman TES the GOAT
-
Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth changed the game forever when it came out in 1989. to this day it stands alone
-
also i believe this ranks up there with some of the greatest
the Michael Turner art is a thing to behold. some of the best ever renditions of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Big Barda, Darkseid and Supergirl
-
Dont forget batman and spawn yo!
-
good drop, Frank Miller and Todd McFarlane, classic crossover
i also liked Batman/Darkness
-
Serious House on Serious Earth...Classic
-
yeah i got a handful of batman from the 70s and they are nice....I got that batman/spawn but havent read batman/darkness
-
Aint even know they had batman/darkness. i gotta check that out.

mid-90's Kelly Jones run is a favorite of mine besides the Neal Adams stuff. Kelly Jones started out with Red Rain/vampire trilogy and then did the Knightfull covers, later his run as regular penciller was really bizarre but great.. he definitely had his own syle ? was wild
-
Scott McDaniel's run was dope too, really liked his style from back to Nightwing #1
anything from Jim Lee since he came to Batman and DC comics is top though
-
if you're checking purely for great story though start with Year One (or just watch the kick ass new animated film)
then right after takes place The Long Halloween and Dark Victory
or go straight to the classic:
and the more recent sequel:
and like people said Hush is great (best art too)
