I have to disagree. I thought the cast was great in all of them, and made it believable.

found footage is getting old, you wanna some good found footage shlock, watch Trollhunter.
paranormal activity was ass cheeks never even got to see the ? thing, three ? movies of a bunch of ? that refuse to watch their own tapes. i hated those movies, everything about them, right down to the completely unrealistic cast, stupidest ? cast of characters this side of crystal lake.
The twist at the ending was great, it's that 10 or 15 minutes that the father goes looking for his son in that underworld or wherever the hell he went is what sucked.

They did watch the tapes all the time though...

the ending of insidious ruined a solid horror movie.
Yea I got to see that movie before it was released. I thought it was good all the way up until the ending when they switched the whole premise when they brought in the other ghosts. I walked out shaking my head because it had so much promise.
It's really hard to come across a great horror movie now because it's not some ? you can slap together, it's a precise formula built off of setting, storyline, and character.
I watched the Halloween documentary a couple months ago. That sit was filmed on a shoestrng budget and on the merits of the acting and plot alone the studio was like 'meh' It wasn't until they added the soundtrack that set the mood it brought the whole movie together.
I gotta check out Trollhunters it's been on my to watch list. -

It's plot induced stupidity. Hollywood has some lazy writing and write characters that don't exist in our world anymore. Like for real who don't know what to do in a zombie attack? Who is gonna creep around the house by themselves in the middle of the night when all types of ? up ? is going on or rumored to be going on? Script writers need to develop characters with the fact in mind that people today are more cynical and less naive and in order to be able to relate or suspend belief the plot and characters need to reflect that. -
