Azealia has potential to usurp nicki if nicki continues to have a bad reception and have not so good albums like she did with reloaded compared to her first one. If that happens than banks is pretty much in a good spot to replace nicki but even if she does I don't think people will see her as impacting or "original" as nicki.

Nicki did great for a EP that had ZERO promotion. This album was basically blacklisted because of that ? MIA pulled. All of her singles are banned for stupid reasons. I never heard stupid hoe on the radio. i never heard starships on the radio. im not hearing beez in the trap on the radio. universal is not holding their end of the stick up for some reason. Nicki does not deserve it. PFRR was a great album. it was very progressive and creative. Nicki Minaj actually MAKES music instead following whatever trends are out. This album went over ? head thats all. Nicki will be cool. she will be gold by the summer and platnium by the fall. remember this is a marathon not a sprint. nicki has longevity on her side. she is playing chess not checkers.

Even as a Kim fan, she dropped the ball. After dropping "Black Friday" she should of had a really HARD female hip hop album on deck cause everyone knew Nicki would fall off at some point. Kim needs an LP out this year. I can't believe it's been 7 years since the last Lil Kim LP. Crazy, "Lighters Up" was the last joint from her I was feeling really. There is no excuse for taking 7 years off, I know she's had a lot of issues but 7 years? If she was smart, her and her team would be in the studio hard body right now. Its kind of weird though one bad album and yall are written her off already damn how i see it is right now shes 1-1 one good album one bad album and how many artist do yall knw who have had bad 2nd albums then dropped uh bomb on the industry 3rd album i mean lets face it the only reason yall ridden her this hard is cause shes a female mc im ot gonna write her off just yet if she keeps doin what shes doin then ya she over with but if she goes back 2 her roots she might have a chance lets just wait and see b4 we write her off cause right now all im seein is abunch of IC memebers who want nicki 2 fail and thats just sad&hate at its worst

This is the internet homie. Anybody that under performs in the slightest is going to be written off. It doesn't matter what facts are presented that says otherwise, people will create their own standards and will measure that artist accordingly. If it's an artist that they already don't like, they are awaiting the fall off the minute they release something new.
When you take into consideration:
1) She's a female MC (a lot of Hip Hop heads automatically think "gimmick" when it comes to female rappers with very few exceptions)
2) She's on YMCMB (people have been awaiting the downfall of that crew since C3. Drake was never supposed to have a second album according to people that hate that crew)
3) Over zealous fans who hyped Nicki up as greater than any female before her
^^^ Those three factors automatically put her at a disadvantage on the net, the IC, and amongst heads in general. #3 definitely didn't make it easy for anyone to like Nicki and I'm someone who couldn't get into her music because of that. -
honestly her 2nd album was ? trash... her frist one wasnt good either but it got decent reviews this 2nd album been ? on by everybody...
Also lets not forget her first single she try to blow up with as YMCMB was ? Massive Attack a song that flopped and was complete garbage. -

The thing with Nicki is, there was no need for her to sell out. She had the female rapper lane on lock and could of milked the ? for 10 years, but she got greedy and tried to step into the Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry lane.
If i was a label exec right now, i would be looking for a female rapper the complete opposite of Nicki and pushing her. The lane is wide open.

The lane for that Lauryn Hill type rapper is there, the complete opposite of Nicki. Someone that makes music that is more organic and deeper on a emotional level. If you've study the game you know rap is about duality (Pac and Big, Rakim and Kane, Jay and Nas). Nicki needs a counter balance.
I'm not saying a back pack rapper either like a Jean Grae but someone who is more of a star but still organic. -

See, this is what I have been saying. I feel like people are leaning towards more quality music...ex: j cole, adele, kendrick, etc. There is a lack of balance and over saturation of this "gimmicky stuff" if that makes sense.
The thing is many female who try to go this route are either boring or unrelatable. Lauryn Hill was too me asexual in her music.
@the bolded, is why I think it would be difficult, she would have to be entertaining & appealing without it overshadowing the talent. -
they should of saved the techno inspired tracks for Christina milan and made nick d a straight hiphop / r&b type album. they got greedy and tried to get all the music money on this album

Another issue I had with Nicki is her arrogance was way out of control. During the whole Kim situation after her "Monster" verse she was walking about like her ? don't stink, dissin chicks subliminally like again she will never fall off. Now she is learning the hard way how the game is. LOL@ "Stupid hoe should of befriended me and she could probably come back". No Your rookie ass should of befriended Kim who managed to survive 10 years in a game that chews females emcees up and spits them out and then maybe you could of learned something. But again arrogance will always be your downfall. She was way to cocky and this is why "Roman Reloaded" is knocking her back to earth.
