@matt- yeah.....i believe I followed the instructions from the website where I downloaded TDSSKILLER....i did rename the file...like I said...my virus protection software is no longer saying I have the trojan (Alueron) when i do a scan....
but when I go to search engines.....I still get redirected so it must still be there somewhere on my comp...although when i scan my virus protection...nothing comes up..... -

do a SYSTEM RESTORE to the oldest date available.
you won't lose any of your files, it'll restore the old system files before your computer acquired ?
this all depends on how long you had the virus. If you had it for a while and your system only restores at 1-2 points after you acquired the virus, then you ass out and will have to do a total system cleaning. Meaning, you'll have to move all your files off the computer and basically go back to manufacture status.
if it helps, and you do a system restore and you rid the computer of the virus, set up a new restore point at that point, knowing that it's safe to use and if you get infected with anything again, without any major system updates, you can always fall back on that restore point. Give it a name you'll remember and you should be set. -
it has been fixed just to let yall know........ went to one malware forum and they were able to pinpoint where the infection it through the logs they asked me to run.....no more redirection right now
