Exactly so we cant blame the rappers for making the type of music they wanna make, we have to blame the radio for not playing different type of artists with different sounds and different messages in their music.

perhaps there should just be separate channels. I don't want to go from Reef the Lost Cauze and then Waka Flocka comes on.

You accuse them of making assumptions about you (valid) then turn around and ask why do they hate themselves? Not trying to make you the public target, but your views do seem to be pretty screwed, despite your belief (at least it seems) that you are one of the enlightened ones or something.

So all you care about is money?

Why is every commercial, mainstream, corporate radio rap song about killin our brothers, treatin women like objects, and spending money on cars, liquor, jewelry and clothing brands all owned by white people?

    Because it sells.

If Dead Prez had beats by Zaytoven and Bangladesh, and wrote catchy hooks, they'd be on the radio too.

Why? Because Clear Channel don't care about the message. If it sells, we get more of it.

So, why don't backpack underground MC's keep their verses as they are, but switch up they style of beats and hooks?

    It's that simple.

The white man don't care if the message is positive or negative cuz at the end of the day he gonna make the MOST money off hip hop.

    Ya feel me?

b/c they respect their art too much? Pretty stupid question.

My fault. Thought you were talking about my last post. Honestly, I care more about myself and those I know than stupid people and what they decide to buy.

So, retaining your revolutionary and complex rhymes in verses(which makes up 90% of a song) and having a hot beat, and a catchy hook is disrespectful to hip hop?

Lets use some logic next time lil ? . One yaself.

Those "stupid people" are your black brothers and sisters.

But, you're man enough to say you only care about yourself, so I guess I gotta respect you for keepin it real.

    Peace.

    u've got to be joking

they respect their art too much, and that is why they pick the beats they pick. They want those beats and they feel those are the best beats to represent their message and music. What you want them to do come up with dances in their hooks?

Basically what you're saying is give in to the industry suits and pick a beat that is "hot" and you'll get radio play. Re read that and then ask yourself if that is not giving up their artistic integrity

now that is logic i dont know wtf ur talking about

i honestly laughed out loud at his post. Basically saying make a catchy hook and pick a top 40 beat and spit revolutionary rhymes over it. NOt only is that just oversaturating your verses (who would take you serious after the hook played)

but that is the epidemy of giving up ones artistic intergrity. Guy is a surefire clown
