MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (AP)

Authorities in Georgia won't charge Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger after a 20-year-old college student said he sexually assaulted her.


District Attorney Fred Bright made the announcement Monday.

The student had told police that Roethlisberger sexually assaulted her last month at a nightclub in the central Georgia college town of Milledgeville.

Bright says questions still persist about what happened between Roethlisberger and the student inside a bathroom at the club. However, he says the accuser and her family told authorities they did not want to press charges.

Roethlisberger, who is 28, owns a home about 30 miles north of Milledgeville on Lake Oconee.

He also is being sued by a woman who claims he ? her in 2008 at a hotel and casino in Lake Tahoe, an allegation he strongly denies





If it speaks like a pig, walks like a pig, and looks like a pig, isn't it a pig? I mean this is twice that Big Ben has faced sexual assault charges, this can't just be coincedence.

    He got off because he didnt do it, charges get filed all the time against famous people and those with money. Most learn after the first time to quit ? with women like that, Ben just failed to realize he has to watch who he ? with.

    yeah ben needs to grow up a lil bit honestly....i'm not sayin dont go out and have a good time, but watch who the ? you're around/what you do with them

    this is 2 times within the last year that some chick has accused him of some ? ....hes probably gonna be suspended for a couple games now

    Its never been about guilt or innocence for me.. I pretty much knew that he wouldnt have been arrested.. I didnt wish it on him either... it was about the treatment..and care that the DA/police force took. as well as the minimal media coverage.. of a franchise superbowl winning Quarterback as opposed to his other counterparts through out the sports world.


    I bet he wont get tagged with the problem child tag.. he just made mistakes....

    Holmes been charged with multiple ? before leadin up to this, The steelers also werent gonna pay him big money after this year anyway, a combo of both got him shipped. He also just made mistakes in his past but it was more than Bens was.

    I knew he wouldnt get charged. Where there is smoke there is fire. Plus I heard that he had something similar happen to him when he was in college.

    But after hearing the statement the dude made on tv and knowing what happened, it sounded like something happen but they couldnt prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.

    Just cause he didnt face charges doesnt mean he didnt do it. ? get off all the time.

    that same statement can go either way to..if he was charged and convicted would u say he didnt do it? nope u would just ride with the verdict. i dont believe he did it just like i dont believe MJ touched those damn kids..but everyone says he did it cuz more then one person made an accusation.

    Yeah you right. It could go either way and I would just ride with the verdict. If he got found guilty Id be like they musta had something on him, or if he got found innocent Id be like they must not have enough he probably didnt do it...

    But im not gonna just say he didnt do it cause they didnt bring up charges. If you put 100 ? in a room and said if you have ever been accused of sexaul assult stand up. You may have 3 dudes stand up. This ? Ben standing up twice. And im not a hater, I didnt wanna see dude go to jail. But im just being objective.     IMO he ? the girls, I dont think there is any discussion about it, now as to why they are gettin mad when ? happens with every athlete. Ben might be the type to promise ? before hand, beat, skeet, and just bounce. Then they be gettin mad at him givin them pipedreams and try to get back at him.

    Someone just told me it was because of that and Santonio failed his drug test?

    But regardless, this is truth!! Anytime a black dude getting a charge, throw the book at him but
    when someone like Big Ben gets charged, they have to have exact proof he did it!

    and did anyone hear the public defenders statement damn that was a big slap to the face...its gonna take awhile for ben to clean up his image

    Roethlisberger dodged another bullet but the word is out on this ? . Whenever you're going down a corridor with a ? 20 year old girl and you have to have a bodyguard watch the door, c'mon man that's not even right. Ben has to know better than that. I know now why Hines Ward called his ? -ass out that one time.
