regardless Illmatic was a reginal classic when it dropped
it may be considered classic by quite a few now but then it wasnt that big of a deal

It took long enough to plat cuz people caught up. It came out on tape you realize that? Not all rap was goin plat in that day-and-age. Even on their first album, even if it's hailed as a classic and the rapper the second coming of the R.
And you also understand, most sales stop after a while so if an album doesn't go platinum in the first few year or so it's not gonna happen? That if nothing else, shows some insistence that people will still listen to lyrics. -

i was young wen it came out but i listen to it now and the music is timeless.. i know people 10 years older then me were feelin that ? wen it came out and i feel that ? today... i can imagine ? goin nuts wen that ? dropped n they heard it for the first time... its classic ? . Nas' best album by far
