This was the year I starting to get tired of mainstream rap.
I mean I still love a good single or club record. But I really started to see that just b/c I record gets 30 mill spin on Hot 97 or sold a whole bunch it doesn't mean its good. I got so tired of hearing the same punchlines and concepts.
So I started messing with Mos Def and Sound Bombing. Roots.
Albums like Vol 3 and Venni Vetti Vecci left me feeling so empty. But I'm not going to deny they had good production and nice bounce. -
