Basically who is the antithesis of Method Man?
Who do ya'll consider a rapper or producer of limited talent or wasn't put in a situation to win, but somehow managed to go way past people's expectations?

Jay Z does have 'talent' though as a rapper/MC
But as an artiste who can construct meaningful records with substance he falls quite short IMO -
LOL at this ? with his subjective and ELITIST nonsense "meaningful'' and "substance".
What might be considered substance and meaningful to you, might differ to someone else. -
That's why I said "IMO" ... in my opinion
LOL -
? in here catching feelings bcuz their favorite Rapper is called an overachiever. SMH Most rappers would probably admit to overachieving its not a bad thing, overachieving is a great characteristic.

Ja Rule, was always the lil ? in the clique(Literally and figuratively). Was down with Mic Geronimo,Dmx,Jay-Z and
became a multi-platinum artist for years (1999-2004).
Nelly=first mainstream artist from his city(Domino was from St.Louis but he claimed Cali),who also became a multi-
plat artist for years(2000-2005/6). St.Louis was a relatively unknown city for rap but he put it on the map. -
Master P.
Not really going with the thread but would U-? even be known locally if he wasn't part of the Wu-Tang?

I label ? elitist, because anything that doesn't fit in their ''little box'' of what hiphop is they call commercial, having no substance, etc. Who the ? is anyone to say what hiphop is or what substance is to the next man, just because you don't relate to it. -
Jeezy for sure he was always basic as hell to me boring wit limited subject matter nd lyricism he's had WAY more success then i thought he would when i 1st heard And Then What

Basically. I consider Jay an over achiever for a different reason than rip.dilla. Back in 94-95, absolutely no one but himself believed he would be as big as he is now. You could say the same about early Wayne career. Wayne however isn't nearly as talented as Jay-Z. -

Master P was mentioned but Silkk owns this thread. Atleast Master P could kinda rap and grinded before he blew. Silkk was lucky to be P's brother. He definately one of the WOATs.
I'm gonna catch some heat for this but I gotta mention Waka Flake. He's lucky his mom's in the industry or he would've never got on, even in ATL. How you a grown momma's boy? How your mom is harder than you? This n*gga's like Namond from The Wire...Naw, if Capadonna had to drive a cab to sustain himself, U ? wack ass would probably be recycling cans.
