Been waiting on this show for awhile and it has not disappointed. Great story line so far and some good acting. Anyone check out the pilot? Thoughts?

The FBI agent as their neighbor is getting interesting already.
-
That last scene was dope.
-
DVR'ed.. ill watch tomorrow.
-
Damn, I set a reminder and forgot all about it. Hope it shows up OnDemand.
-
it's on but i'm not really paying attention to it. it's background noise for my hw/IC snooping...
hopefully they run the episode twice back to back then i'll actually watch. -
thought it was decent so far..however i would like to see them speak russian when they are alone...it would make it more realistic...i know people wont want to read subtitles too much, but two foreigners would speak their native tongue when theyre alone..
dont like when they go 20 years in the past with the same character, shouldve used younger looking people for those scenes..that goes for every show tho..having Keri Russell look the same at 20, 25, and 41 is somewhat annoying..

In the beginning the one FBI Agent says that they aren't allowed to speak one word of Russian at anytime once in the States. -

True..but after 16 years, and to how heated she was, that ? slips...but i see what youre saying -

True Dat. I agree with you though. I think every now and then they should speak a little Russian. I'm feeling this show though. I watched it over again last night. -
I thought it was really good and will continue watching. They did a great job in setting up the tone and atmosphere of the series and I really liked how they hit the ground running in the opening moments. Kerri Russell and Mathew Rhys who plays her husband were both really good in the lead roles.

Damn this is a dope ass episode. They are doing a great job digging into these characters minds. Gonna be a good show.
-
Are you going to pull for the "bad guys"?
-
Moms got that bond with the daughter. She is grooming her. That should be a good sub plot.

Very true. She said in the first episode she wanted to teach them to be Socialists. Thats gonna be a conflict during the series. Cuz even though Phillip let the whole defecting thing go after they killed ole dude when he found out he ? Elizabeth...its still in the back of his head. He want to stay and live free in America and the son already has that gung ? american mentality. But she got that bond with the daughter and is already slowly grooming her. Its gonna be real interesting for sure.
Its a good show IMO. FX always have really good dramas.

Exactly. It's going to be interesting to see these different bonds develop. This is becoming one of my fav shows on potential alone.

I also find it real refreshing that its the female thats the hard core one out of the duo. Phillip is a lot more sensitive. Even though they've been together for what 15-16 years....he's the one who fell in love with her and has second thoughts on some of their missions. She's still all about Russia and the overall mission. Doesn't really hide her hatred for the U.S. and is still distant emotionally from Phillip even though they've been married for so long and have 2 kids. And she loves her kids but she still really think of them as products of what they ultimately want to achieve which is why she's so adamant about teaching them to be Socialists. Even after being ? during her training and hearing from dude himself that it was a "perk" of his job given to him by his commanders....she still is all about the motherland.
That brainwashing got a real tight grip on her. Cuz once ole dude woulda justified doing what he did as a privilge given to him by the government you love and risk your life for.....I woulda defected like a mug. LOL.

Oh and she beat the ? out of that dude. When she kicked his head clean thru the wall that was dope. LOL

The Brothers was real smooth scooping up Roberts wife. FBI was clueless. Lol.
-
Wow!!!!!!!
-
So Liz was twerkin it for a Black man! LOL! ? hurt Phillip soul when dude told him straight up Liz told him she didn't love him and showed up at his doorstep when she was pregnant with Paige. Oh & LMAO at them meeting at a MLK rally.
Really good episode tho....you knew Robert's wife wasnt gonna live. That baby going to Moscow to be raised as a sleeper agent. And the new handler might seem nice but she is gonna cause a lot a problems...especially if she get any inkling that Phillip is thinking about defecting. -

Yeah that was another good episode. I was wondering if Liz and Phillip knew they was gonna ? the wife. I really couldn't tell. Yep. Granny gonna be a problem.
