LOL @ Jamel. TQ was a part of it, but when cursing in R&B music got commonplace, ? was in trouble. It used to be an all ages thing, but now it got marginalized into what ratchet people like listening to. The subject matter turned into ? statements and the quality got removed. When autotune and techno beats came in 2006, it was a wrap.

I dont agree but it sure as hell takes the blame for everything.

I'd argue that rap killed the significance of using musical instruments aswell. Rap is a poor excuse for music if you judge it objectively.

women have forgotten what it is to be ladies...
lack of proper examples and the introduction of "disfunctional families are normal" tv programs have a whole hell of a lot to do with the current state of the "family."

Truth for those who don't see it. Too much dysfunctional ratchedness is trying to become the norm. Someone needs to take a stand and tell men and women to strive for better. I swear I can tie the majority of the problems to Ronald Reagan. -
Big Business killed soul.

As in a song touching on societal problems?
Because the likes of Bilal and D'Angelo have a host of songs in the same vein. Maybe not as rich and has good musically but thats why Marvins so great, people like him are one offs.
