AZ is NICE. He's complete and makes things look effortless. Extremely smooth flows, dope lyrics that aren't overly complex or simplistic, the mainstream world needs to respect that man way more than they do.
-
The answer is:
Nas
pun
Rakim
Cool G
Early Jay.
THats it -
Mad heads, let's not carried away.
He's underrated, but he's not on some elite lyricist ? . -
Nas was never better than A he always got outshined.
You might need a dictionary thats why yall prolly dont see this man is top 3 easily.
Dude is simple but deep as ? dude said eloheem one time and I almost bugged out.
You have to be on a certain level to understand. -
AZ has to be one of the biggest underachievers in the game.

so whos better???
-
AZ is dope.....Nas and Jay were both scared to let him really shine cuz look at every track he did with nas..AZ outshined him...In my opinion he better than Jay...his voice is nice, flow is smooth, lyrics are on point, and he has style.

AZ...aka The Nas Killer
-
AZ is not underrated foh ? ? me with this ? . the same ? that say BIG cant be goat because of lack of material act like dude didn't have plenty of opportunity to shine and didn't
-
that Jay line, "had a spark when you started but now you just garbage" for Nas should apply to AZ, honestly.

I got az top 3, but c'mon bruh -
He's dope and all. the reason he isn't mentioned Witt nas and jay is because he's been using the same flow for 20 years, content was never very diverse either, he failed to keep up with the times. Which is why he isn't relevant today.

if we talkin straight lyricism hes top 10 all time easy with the likes of nas, kool g rap, rakim, pun, jay z styles p, jadakiss, biggie and big daddy kane

Doe Or Die.
Pieces Of A Man.
9 Lives.
A.W.O.L.
AZiatic.
The Format.
All of these albums still get heavy rotation. ? what the naysayers think...AZ is that ? . -
Az bodied nasir on Lifes a ? .His verse made nasir sound like an elementary rappa tryna compete wit the Varsity
-
AZ is in the realm of Masta Ace, DOOM, Sauce Money and Jean Grae to me. Great lyricists, could be GOATs... but because of label politics or cuz they choose to, they never got the mainstream push they needed.Tommy bilfiger wrote: »Az bodied nasir on Lifes a ? .His verse made nasir sound like an elementary rappa tryna compete wit the Varsity

Just ignore him. He's been exposed many times already. -
Cats need to remember AZ came out around the same time as the Wu...Big....Nas and Jay....and AZs talent was well respected.....terrible promotion was the reason why he's never mentioned among the GOATS.....he easily had one of the best albums in 95 with his debut Doe Or Die.....I wonder what "Bring It On" what have sounded like if Nas and AZ would have been on it instead of Sauce Money and Jaz(track was still fiyah though)
