Dad taught me before my first day of high school when I was 13 because it was part of my uniform and he wasn't about to tie it for me every morning. Took about 5 mins to learn if that. It did shock me though when I first got to college and saw so many dudes who didn't know how to tie a tie. *Smh at me having to tie a tie for a 22 year old senior about to graduate....? was sad but funny all at once

i don't remember who taught me; but i knew how to tie a tie since i was 11..my homeboy in college who was older than me had a job interview and didn't know how to tie a tie and his pops was in his life..i showed him then untied that joint and told him to do it..? was stuck to i just tied it again and handed it to him

You have to be able to tie a tie as a man. I can't wear a tie for religious purposes though, because most if not all ties are made from/ contain silk. I never wear a tie, but any man should be able to tie one.
