I had their album 'n gatz we trust but someone stole it or I lost it somewhere in the mid nineties. That album was dope indeed. When I first heard Mobb Deep I thought they bit their name from SCC Cartel.

I always thought Pac got the idea for his 'Shorty Wanna Be A Thug' or 'Lil Homies' from SCC's 'Lil Knucklehead', they are pretty similar...
Cant believe its not on YouTube... If you aint heard it, give it A Google and try find it... -

West Coast had some real healhty groups in the 90s after NWA, like SCC, Comptons Most Wanted, Above The Law, The Coup, Penthouse Players Clique, Cosmic Slop Shop etc they all had classic albums or cult classic albums if that makes sense, like hip hop heads regarded them as having classics...
-
The ones that got 3 classics
-
The time I accidentally stole a Havoc & Prodeje cd from tower records thinking it was some rare unreleased Mobb Deep demo album eliminates them from consideration as far as I'm concerned.
I risked my freedom for that ? and went home all happy thinking I came up on some exclusive ? . Needless to say I felt duped. -
SCC was out years before mobb deep, i gotta go with the originals
-
-
Havoc and prodigy
-
never heard of the other group ever
-
this some obscure western coast ?
.
i wonder who stole who's name -
Didn't mobb deep diss them for biting their names?
-
Respect The IMD
The Infamous Mobb Deep

Thats in 1991, the same year SCC dropped their first offical album, they where still 'Unsigned Hype'....
You think SCC wernt putting in work trying to get known even before their first album? Fact is SCC first official album was 2 years before Mobb Deep's... -
Both groups got classics though...
-
lol @ Those flat tops Prodigy and Havoc had. Who bit who though? I Always figured Mobb Deep bit their names from SCC but now you got me doubting.
