Battlefield 4 Confirmed For Next-Gen Release

"We’ve been investing and innovating on new technology for months."
In the shock move of the century, EA has confirmed that Battlefield 4 will be released on the next-generation of consoles.
Taking to the EA Blog to react to recent layoffs at the company, EA Labels President Frank Gibeau revealed that the game has already been shown off behind closed doors, suggesting a full blown reveal may not be far away.
"We’ve been investing and innovating on new technology for months," he wrote. "Console partners who have seen our early work agree, EA’s next-gen software is nothing short of astonishing.
"At a GameStop company meeting earlier this week, we gave 500 store managers a sneak peak [sic] at Battlefield 4. The game received a huge ovation and thousands of fans reacted to a single enthusiastic Tweet by GameStop’s CEO."
It was revealed in January that a new Battlefield title will release "next year", though EA has stated that the series isn't becoming annualised at this time. Presumably an official reveal of the game can't be far off now; as it stands, all we know is that Battlefield 4 will stay in the modern setting.

Bad Company 2 sacrificed graphics for destruction, BF3 sacrificed destruction for pretty graphics; both games tried to balance both and still have it run smooth (BF runs at 30 fps to COD's 60 fps). Unless they make the maps smaller (for consoles), I don't see how they can improve on the series this gen.
Glad the devs realized that they can't expand the series any more on current gen. If this ? has the destruction (or more) of BC2, with pretty graphics AND run at 60 FPS....GOAT. -

If they can get the controls to feel less bulky I'll love it though. The biggest difference between BF and COD besides all the maps, perks, etc. is how smooth the controls on cod are.

Then you would be better off sticking with COD. They not gonna sacrifice the sim feel of BF to make it feel like COD's friendly, but Arcade controls. -
didnt they already start development on this ? ?

didnt they already start development on this ? ?
yea, they probably been developing on the PS4 and 720 all along -
yea i know they get dev kits super early before the consoles even announced
Tekken X Street Fighter is gonna be a PS4 launch title -
First Day Cop, 152 hours into BF3 and I still have 12 weapons to unlock, plus I am just really getting into the Aftermath Expansion and End Game Expansion is Dropping in a week or so BF3 will hold me until BF4. Dice needs to address how often you get hung up and stuck on ? for BF4, that's my only gripe with BF3.

Don't give a ? I only want to know what's the story with mw4???!!!

BF4 = CoD killer.

BF4 = CoD killer.
Consumers not buying COD = COD Killer
The only thing that can "? COD" is the consumer, when their interest changes or they no longer enjoy it. No shooter is going to dethrone COD its a staple and anybody can pick it up and be decent at it (especially when MW4 brings back those Deathstreaks) and have beacoup fun on sight its also addictive and it is well documented on this forum that COD players dont have the patience for Battlefields learning curve.

Are they gonna call it MW4? I thought they wrapped up the series with MW3, but I could be wrong because I didn't buy that ? .

More talk about CoD in this threads proves no one gives a ? about Battlefield.

Because, like it or not, COD is king of FPS. Anyone saying different is lying. GTA5 about to ? ? up, but it's not a FPS.

This is a prime example why I enjoy BF3, great video but skip to 5:50 for some instant epicness.

BF4 optimized for PC and X1, not for PS4 due to Direct X 11.1 API

Frostbite 3 Supports DirectX 11.1 API – Faster GPU/CPU Performance on PCs and Xbox One
DICE confirms that the Frostbite 3 engine supports DirectX 11.1 API as revealed by DSOGaming.
“We use DX11.1, there are some optimizations in it (constant buffer offsets, dynamic buffers as SRVs) that we got in to the the API that improves CPU performance in our rendering when one runs with DX11.1. This will be in BF4.
This means that PC and Xbox One versions of Battlefield 4 would be more optimized than PlayStation 4."
