Favorite line: "Your single was 99 cents, mine was 4 bucks".
I remember hearing that line was a jab at Nas. I heard that the "Ain't No ? /Dead President" single was $4.00 and the "If I Ruled the World" single was $0.99. And Nas's single sold more units. In fact, I think "If I Ruled The World" was #1 on the pop charts in part because it was only $.99 and people were buying it.
[* Edit]However, I heard that from an unreliable source over the internet, so maybe I should qualify that first.
The single Hov is referring to us the Can't knock the hustle remix ? single. I still have it on tape. Damn I'm old lol -
If I Ruled the World never went to #1 on any charts

I can't even listen to Jay past when he was supposed to retire with the Black Album. I remember Damon Dash doing an interview about that and he said he doesn't believe that at all, look at how smart he was.
*edit* Other than some ? on American Gangster, Say Hello was pretty good. -

I love checking out sample sources dude, that's one of the things about Hip Hop that's so attractive. One of the only genres that literally encompasses all other music and can sample it to make it it's own. Very unique.
A lot of these samples also would be lost in time and rap brings them back to life. -

You gotta understand not everybody feelin the flow.. at the same time
I don't expect him to go anywhere since he still big!
Its bs people wan't a winner so bad but they aint patient to wait on true talent!
They get behind any corky persona that happens to sell after being played a billion times everywhere.
The labels push anything and know the mainstream fans easily manipulated!
