I've never known a show to not only have such replay value but to pretty much get better on each rewatch...its a fkin animal of a show. Me and two of my boys shared a house and the wire would be played constantly on rotation for months on end. Goat show.

That ? was deep... But Avon was ultimately right... String ended up getting swindled then got shot up

Stringer just knew that he had the game figure out. But he lose in every part of the game.
-
String/Avon downfall was Avon going to jail
Avon went away and String took over, now it's a power struggle
String started running ? his way and put profit above all while Avon was more about the rep and the power
From season 2 on, they were basically working against each other
If Avon showed even a bit off flex, they could've thrived -
"Omar ain't no terrorist, he just another ? wit a gun. And you ain't no Delta Airlines neither. You just a ? that got his ? took."

Don't forget one of the major reoccurring bad guys on SVU this season was the goofy kid's cousin in Season 2 of the Wire, and Brother Mouzone showed up in a recent episode too. lol -
Also Rawls played a Lt or Major in an episode of SVU...
-
I swear I heard a theory about The Wire/L&O connection

There's also one concerning The X Files -
All three shows are supposedly in the same continuity and tied together by Detective Munche. He was created in the show Homicide and made an appearance in the Wire and the Lone Gunmen (an X-Files spinoff). Then he moved to NYC and was part of the L&O:SVU group.

This is the connection here. Through Detective Munch. That one character I think holds the record for appearing in the most television series. Munch frequently referenced working in Baltimore and wanting to move back there on SVU alot when he's talking to Fin (Ice T's character) -
this range, this caliber, even if i miss i cant miss

As smart as Prop Joe was how come he couldn't see Cheese wasn't loyal???
-
Same reason Avon ain't have D'Angelo done.
-
Dee needed to be cooked...cheese was a much larger threat...prop Joe knew he was a ? eater too...blind loyalty...good example of contrast between that generation and marlo
