specifically the quote
How does the IC feel about this? Espcially in light of Pharrell's "New Black" interview and Sterling's comments
specifically the quote
"Black isn't just a color. Black isn't just a race. It's a feeling and a place from which one feels isolated from the world of the governing elite.
Classism is the new racism"

posted this in the wrong forum my bad

the old racism is still here... don't know why ppl want to act like class isn't tied to race in this here country...
-
racism is racism and classicism is classicism, point blank
-
Nope.
Oblivious, disingenuous and comatose people run with this...
Look at the type of laws being touted, vitriol being screamed..people being assaulted maimed and killed isnt not because people are looking at their paychecks -
The user and all related content has been deleted.

For some years I even seen ? get on this stream of thought
Those missiles they threw at tiger didnt have a classism payload -
yeah because poor lower-class white people are so accepting of people from other races.
-
the song is good but the quote at the end to me almost seems as an attack against black unity.
-
White Trash always hated on the black man cause he felt there was someone lower then him by default regardless of accuracy. This is more attempts to marginalize the very specific issue of racism. The Dream eating it up cuz he thinking his money makes him more then black.

Ugghh I don't really want to hear from a ? trying to get shine on these issues.
-
An extremely ignorant premise. Sounds like something a pseudo-intellectual would spout. Any fool who believes that needs to take a course involving critical race theory.
I ? with The Dream but like many artists he should leave the social commentary to people who know what the hell they're talking about. -
The dream is a fuckn idiot
-
The fall back to poor whites is... at least I ain't a ? of course its not a consensus but it's common word to the tea party

I believe this.
I believe that classicism is more prevalent within our community vs the world. but eeven poor white people would rather be poor and white than rich and black. -
he's jumping on Bomani's wagon now, trying to sound like he's a deep thinker.
-
I believe Kanye said it best even if they see you're driving a Benz you're still a ? in a coupe to them
-
That ? sounds stupid. How can classism be the new racism when racism is still here, and lots of blacks have to deal with both racism and classism.
-
What a stupid ? thing to say.
-
Ask those "high class" Clippers if their higher tax bracket got them any respect. NOPE they was still a bunch of ? on a woodgrain plantation far as their OWNER was concerned.
No racism is the new and old racism. And classism is classism.
? always wanna be "Deep." Like those idiots that say dumb ? like,"there's only one race; the human race." then get scared when they see a ? walking towards them on the sidewalk after dawn. FOH -
I think some celebrities thought that a few million and a couple handshakes made them think racism was behind them.
Life is disappointing like that sometimes.

"What's the difference between Lassie and that damn German Shepherd in your backyard? Lassie got money and fame, but at the end of the day, he still a damn dog like any other."
Grand wizard -
This is seriously problematic.
It aspires to merge disparate forms of oppression under the umbrella of the distinctive oppression that is racial oppression, with the aim of creating a broader-based solidarity against those who it supposes is the real enemy: the 1%.
But what it will do is engulf racial oppression in a sea of other, more -- to non-blacks -- sympathy-arousing forms of oppression.
