PlayStation 4 Has Sold Over 10 Million Units
PlayStation 4 10 Million Sold
It’s no secret that the PlayStation 4 has been and continues to outsell the Xbox One. It was reported that even after Microsoft dropped Kinect from its bundle (reducing the price of its hardware in the process), the PS4 still managed to outsell the rival platform. While it’s still much too early in the “console war” to declare a winner yet, it’s not at all surprising when Sony announces yet another sales milestone – which is exactly what the company did at this year’s Gamescom.
The 5 Most Ridiculous Reasons Games Were Banned
Taking to the stage during the big event in Cologne, Germany, PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan announced that Sony’s PlayStation 4 has managed to sell over 10 million units worldwide.
Not one to let media and fans speculate, Ryan immediately followed up and confirmed that 10 million was the number of PS4s that had been sold through to consumers since the console first launched last November. That means that the company has shipped well over that many into countless stores as well, although Sony didn’t delve into those details during its press conference.
The platform holder went on to announce several other things during its stint on the German stage and further detailed existing titles arriving in 2014 and beyond. With Tearaway Unfolded and The Order: 1886 being standout games during the presentation, not to mention the exclusive portions of key third-party titles, there’s still plenty of momentum for the company to make use of.
Although the loss of Rise of the Tomb Raider earlier this morning (the game is now an Xbox One exclusive) was a major blow to longtime fans of the series, Sony has established an immense install base for its current-gen platform that’ll keep things flowing smoothly. That said, it’ll be interesting to see how such a major third-party exclusive shapes the landscape of the ongoing competition.

Good for Sony.
-
Buying mine when little big planet 3 drop, in November I think
-
I was supposed to cop when Last Of Us dropped...but my PS3 is still offering me ? I havent experienced yet.
It's like I'm now starting to use it to its full potential...and I love it.
I'm in no rush to upgrade. -
Yeah I got a huge backlog on ps3 and not enough time to catch up on it
-
That's pretty impressive considering there are probably a lot of people like myself that haven't seen anything to justify buying a PS4 yet. That means if they ever get the show rolling with a consistent stream of good games being released, they will definitely continue selling consoles at a decent rate.

I gotta get my phat boy fixed then I'll hook that one up in my room. That way when I'm actually in there I'll knock the back log out. Good ? tho, I wonder what the comp numbers are

Not really seeing the point you're making here. Unless in your pointless crusade to do...whatever the hell it is you're trying you to do, you missed the fact that the first post was address the current state of my feelings towards the PS4 and the second post is talking about something that's happening well into next year. -
still got my ps3 ? still works fine. I might upgrade to the PS4 when the slim version comes out and the price drops which should be the winter
-
Don't understand how either system moving this many units. What the ? is there to play? Destiny looks like Halo mixed with Elder Scrolls.
PS4 waiting on GTA5 and LBP 3.
I'm copping a ? shop Wii, Skyward Sword, and Mario Bros. before any of this ? . -
Why cop a wii from the ? shop when you can just buy a wii u. It's backwards compatible.

ford focus reaction to this thread:

Fyi, this is roughly on pace with the original Wii sales, according to Wired magazine.
-
Lmao

I'm thinking about getting a PS4 or a bundle console at that during Black Friday or holiday season. It depends though on what's being offered around that time because if those deals not looking right to me I'll wait until 2015.
I might just start buying some games come fall then buy the console later on. Then Idk, games for both consoles stayed getting delayed this year. -
I'm so proud of Sony.

Because I'm not trying to spend Wii U money. I'm basically in for the experience of Skyward Sword and Mario Bros. After that, it'll do what my GameCube did after Twilight Princess: Sit there.
Hell, if I could get an emulator to play Skyward Sword, I wouldn't even buy it. -
Xbox One sales still down?
-
Is Sony going to use some of the money form console and PSN sales to upgrade their staffing and build a better network infrastructure?... I know most of you guys are shareholders so hook it up my resume has been updated.

When was this?
What industry analysts have been saying is that the home console market is as good as dead out in Japan. Looking at this weeks Japan software/hardware sales figures it seems like they were on the money too. Neither Sony nor Nintendo could revitalize that market out in their home turf and it's been this way for years now.
