A man at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas has tested positive for the Ebola virus. It's the first case diagnosed in the United States.
The patient has been in isolation since being admitted to the hospital on September 26 with Ebola-like symptoms. He had recently returned from a trip to Liberia.
"The patient developed symptoms days after returning to Texas from West Africa and was admitted into isolation on Sunday at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas," the Texas Department of State Health Services said in a statement.
The Center for Disease Control just held a press conference at its headquarters in Atlanta.
They are stressing that the virus is difficult to catch because it's spread through ? fluids and is not an airborne disease. CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden is confident it will not spread to other parts of the U.S.
The disease is currently ravaging West Africa. The death toll there has reached 3000 so far in 2014.

So how much exposure to ? fluids is needed to contract Ebola? Do you have to ingest them for instance, or would skin exposure do it? And,what period of time can an infected individual spread the disease before symptoms appear? Are there carriers of this disease who could infect others for a long period of time before symptoms appear?
I just got back home from Dallas less than a week ago. In other words, could I be dying right now as we speak?

Im cool now but ima minitor this story. Im more worried about this ? than the terrorists

They claim that the individual has to be exhibiting symptoms of illness to be contagious. I'd assume contact with ? fluids means skin contact with fluids but I've also heard skin to skin contact can cause it. People seem to be saying it's only fluids now though. Tests have also proven that it can spread from a pig to a primate with no contact so I've got to wonder what other animals it can spread to and from without contact and if it can spread from a human to other animals without contact. From what I've read, animals like fruit bats are the only carries that can transmit the disease without contracting it. -
They should have kept those damn white people in Africa. ? is about to spread
