Azelia Banks isn't saying that no white people can partake in hip-hop, to my knowledge. That's another issue completely. You want to say the chick is a racist and TI is ? for supporting a racist, fine. But right now, they are discussing Azelia's belief that any and every white person doing Hip Hop should be attacked and any person down with a white artist is a ? . No, she has not provided a reasonable explanation why that's true. And No, TI being wrong in one instance doesn't make him automatically wrong in this instance.
Iggy deserves all of the backlash she's getting IMO. She has a large presence in mainstream media and that makes her a poster-child for appropriation (and yeah, what she does is "culture" appropriation). Elvis wasn't the first or only white person to appropriate Rock music and feed it to White mainstream crowds, overtime erasing Black ownership of the music. But if we're gonna have a discussion about how appropriation has led to a complete and successful severing of Black association with Rock, then Elvis is going to be a big name we're bringing up because he is a poster-child.
Iggy's problem is that she misses the entire point and says that everyone that has anything to say is just a "hater" or mad at her success. This ? much deeper than that. But as long as she's in the Top 10, she doesn't give a ? . I'm sick of certain white people taking these things personally as if their feelings need to be cared for. If you're part of the problem, you are part of the problem. Even Macklemore gets it (http://genius.com/Macklemore-white-privilege-lyrics). It's sad that Iggy and a bunch of others don't. -

Yeah I give no fcks. Who cares i have a life. If she really says something blatantly racist thats on her. Im the type who do my thing and mind my own business. I honestly thought The Lonious Monk was a better poster than what he's exposed himself to be in this thread. Quite sad actually.
I can't fault T.I. for getting his money, but at the same time I don't see how shutting the ? up would really hurt his investment. When you cashing in on a ? that calls herself a runaway slave master, it's time to recognize the type of person you dealing with. Get paid still, but if not defending an ignorant culture vulture that's on record saying some racist bs loses you a few dollars somehow then so be it....missing out on a lil extra is definitely worth it for my dignity, but maybe Clifford thinks otherwise.
On another note though, did anybody actually watch the whole HOT97 interview with Ms. Banks?? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like Ebro repeatedly asked her to "put it in the music" or whatever and she basically was like nahhh Ima just talk about it via other platforms (twitter, interviews) and it got to a point when she got kinda ? and was like it's YALL JOB TO FOCUS ON THE MUSIC NOT MINE....I was kinda like WTF at that point maybe I was just misunderstanding lmao but it really came off as though she absolutely refuses to make any kind of socio-politically aware music whatsoever and would rather just continue to do her thing while ranting on twitter and in interviews.

Anyway, ? Iggy, she trying very hard to be the white Nikki Minaj and I don't want to deal with the black one. Whether she has a true "love of the culture" will come to light soon but it looks to me like she saw an avenue created by Nikki pretending to be white and decided she had a leg up because she actually is white and merged into that lane. Azaliea Banks needs to keep her crusade going, I'm not mad at her at all. If she hating on Iggy then so be it, there are a lot of black female rappers that are being looked over because the media likes the great white hype.
