The 90's was the best period for hip hop ever. The 80's had its moment but its nowhere near as good as what was produced during the 90's. You had different regions stepping up and making dope music, diverse artists with various content and subject matter.
The 2000's were good too dont get me wrong, but the divide between the mainstream and underground was just too wide, and there was hardly any balance in the media, so only a certain type of sound or artist would get shine. -

80s Rap >>>>
LOL @ "The 80s had its moments". Thats like saying George Washington, Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson had their moments. -
Go and find a dryer. Place yourself in the inside. Get somebody to put it on for 60 mins.
Don't forget the dryer sheets ? -

they had their moments when they weren't owning people and being hypocrites about it -
the 90's my favorite decade of Hip Hop
but alota folk do be sleepin on the Eighties
they originated the styles that nineties rappers
used and the best emcees from the new era adapted their techniques
with the times and improved upon them like Nas for example
he got some of his style from Rakim, G Rap , and Slick Rick
except id say he learned from them and took it to a whole nother level
but thats debatable cause KGR and Ra got legendary pen games too -
I dedicate these to the 90's Hip Hop lovers. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwJBDS-3gNA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QuN4HYarqw
