Universal’s family comedy starring Nia Vardalos will go head-to-head with DC’s top superheroes
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Fantastic Four 2” have new competition at the box office.
Universal will release Nia Vardalos‘ family comedy “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2” on March 25, 2016, where it will go head-to-head with WB’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”
The release date decision is a strong counter programming move on Universal’s part. Kirk Jones will direct for Gold Circle, HBO and Playtone.

Meanwhile, Paramount has announced that Brad Pitt‘s “World War Z” sequel will take on Fox’s “Fantastic Four” sequel on June 9, 2017.
J.A. Bayona is set to direct “World War Z 2,” which was written by Steven Knight. David Ellison‘s Skydance will produce with Pitt’s company Plan B Entertainment.
Expect the “Fantastic Four” sequel to eventually move, as it’s extremely unlikely that Hollywood would release two high-profile sequels that cater to the same audience on the same day.

Sony had a Spidey 3 planned, and a Sinister 6 spinoff in the works. Marvel moved there entire phase 3 just for Spidey. Things change. -

No competition. The other movies suck and what makes it sadder is that F4 comes out this summer and the sequel comes out next spring. That's ? pathetic coming from Fox.

Same reason all these movies get redone. Its just a money grab.
Pretty sure my big fat Greek wedding was the most profitable film ever by ratio.
Easy cake up. Basic ? will flock to that ? and they only have to make a minimal investment to film that ? . -
That batman v superman trailer looked corny as ? . Now if the movie is anything like the cartoon movie then I'm there. Those cartoon movies hit. Haven't seen a bad one yet. WWz, couldn't tell u what the plot is. Especially since Brad figured out a way past all of the zombies.

Sony partnered with Marvel because of ASM2 not doing well AND because the studio itself was in trouble. -
