Even as the Bcotton/supergangster of Cole fans on the IC i will admit FHD is not a classic but its pretty close. However you can't say FHD is forgettable. The songs have plenty of replay value.

I rarely ever rely on outside ratings, but yall nigas are wildin

Outlets like Metacric will definitely tend to OVER-rate ? , but I've rarely if ever seen them underrate ? . I say 'they' , but thats fans, ,general consensus. 67/100?!?!?

Again, stop forcing it. FHD is not close to classic, ever, at all

the no features thing is kinda overrated too, props to him and his fanbase for him being able to drop outta nowhere and go plat tho.

    It's killing you ain't it?

    wat do u mean?
He's been going against the grain and constantly proving you wrong.

ah, ? wrong every day b. i think his success is great.

i wanna like his music a lot, i just cant get into it. and i like j. cole's collabs(except planes) so i dont really see the huge deal about no features. maybe cuz it was unexpected?
Most mainstream albums are littered with features. So it's rare to get a mainstream album in this era with no features AND it still sold.

I'll say this though, not having that one genre defining album will hurt his legacy but it is what it is.

So Far Gone by Drake and Friday Night Lights by J Cole are classic bodies of work, but I agree they don't have classic albums

I bought So Far Gone on the strength of some recommendations on the IC. Just as I was starting to get into it and start to nod my head he'd start singing. If that's this generations idea of "classic" then Nas was right, Hip Hop is dead.

Oops my bad. The album I bought was Take Care.

No Hip-Hop Artist has as many classic albums as Eminem

    The Slim Shady LP
    The Marshall Mathers LP
    The Eminem Show
    The Marshall Mathers LP

Thread starter is right that J Coles discography is wack

However Reasonable Doubt is not a classic

Trap Muzik is not a classic

Late Registration is not a classic

When it comes To Eminem the numbers don't lie his albums have out sold anyone elses by miles and are Musical classics not just Hiip-Hop. Sales are fact and set in history and no Hip-Hop Artist is gonna do the numbers he has ever in history

Even Lil Wayne can squeak in w/ Carter 2 and Drought 2 (i get em confused) as his highly regarded, memorable, 'this stopped everything' bodies of work

J Cole don't got ? but nice, fun, 'personal favorite' at best level bodies of work . Please anyone tell me im lying

    You lying

J Cole hasn't even made a good album

Has albums have all been average or wack

His production worst producer ever, being top 5 most boring rapper ever, insisting on singing on hooks and sounding just as terrible as Ja Rule, Kanye West, Andre 3000 doing it, lack of charisma, 1 dimensional college subject matter are all holding him back from making a good album

    Great Lyricist/MC though
