He's just glorifying selling drugs and violence.
No way conscious black folks can support this.

Why on earth would you take that as an insult? -

Nobody ever worried too much about what the sopranos glorified.

This is exactly the wrong response.
Whatever The Sopranos glorified, it would not have the same affect on our kids, and so on our communities.
White folks' double standards is completely irrelevant. Suppose that the Sopranos is harmful to white kids. Then when they turn a blind eye to that, they're the ones who will suffer. But it would be extreme folly for us to turn a blind eye to what rappers are doing because whites turn a blind eye to what their music and movies are doing. Because we are the one that will suffer, and probably more too.

If you haven't noticed, I have been saying this ? for years. What's different about this vid and song is that they leave no room for deniability. -
If music can negatively influence your children you have already failed as a parent

There will always be things kids shouldn't follow in the media. Yes its immoral but the media holds no responsibility for the way your child is raised. Teach kids what entertainment is.Tell them that rappers lie and movies are fake. -
Never attack the artists. They're just showing you their lifestyle or their perspective of that lifestyle. What you take from it, is on you. Plus the song bangs lol.
? helps those who help themselves, Translation: ? what you heard, ? blessin' all the trap ? -
What's a conscious black person?

Difference between movies and rap though is that rap portrays itself as reality. Of course parents are responsible for their kids, but the kids most heavily influenced by this music are those with no parents or irresponsible ones. There has to be accountability in our music given the amount of influence it wields.
Add another advisory next to the parental one stating the content herein is fictional and mimicking the actions portrayed can lead to jail or death. -

So Future should change his music because there are kids out there with no good parents or guardians? No that's not Future's problem. When these white kids are shooting up schools and malls I don't see anyone blaming the music they listen to as an influence, they talk about mental health. If a kid gets into crime then that's a decision that that kid made, it has nothing to do with music, kids aren't THAT damn stupid. -

Where were you when Columbine was blamed on Marilyn Manson?

Its hilarious to see people say music has no effect on them but they talk and dress like rappers, when they try to emulate everything except the murder and drug dealing.
Even the drug culture in general is glorified by rap music now you got people sippin lean and poppin pills because they heard it in a rap song.
You can't put your head in the sand but at the same time people make their own decisions and if they decide to live the life characters like Future claim to lead and they get shot or locked up or OD thats on them. -

There are always outliers and exceptions though.
