The Predator (Teaser Image)

The new teaser image doesn’t exactly reveal much, save for an early tagline (“You’ll never see him coming”) superimposed over an image of the Predator. This is a possible indication that the upcoming movie will offer a more traditional take on the character, as opposed to the larger “Super Predators” featured in Predators, the most recent installment of the franchise produced by Robert Rodriguez. Black’s longtime partner Fred Dekker (himself the director of The Monster Squad) is collaborating on the project.
Beyond the new image, little is known of Black and Dekker’s (say it out loud a few times) take on the material, other than it aims to “reinvent” the franchise, but not necessarily remove or ignore previous installments. It is not expected to make reference to the Alien Vs. Predator series, however, which attempted to merge the continuity of the two franchises, but has thus far been ignored by later installments of each.
For its part, Predators was set on an alien planet and featured a new cast of abducted humans as prey, but made passing reference to the events of the originals. Some fans have speculated that the new film may opt to tell the story from the Predator’s point of view, which would be a first for the series. Traditionally, Predators (the species does not have a more specific canonical name in the feature films thus far) are depicted as trophy hunters from an intergalactic warrior culture who travel to other planets to hunt the native dominant species.
While Black may not yet be a household name for some moviegoers outside of “The Director of Iron Man 3,” he is well known in screenwriting circles for the huge payday he scored for his work on the original Lethal Weapon film, and his subsequent scripts for action-heavy vehicles The Last Boy Scout, Last Action Hero, and The Long Kiss Goodnight. He has several other major properties in development in addition to The Predator, including revivals of iconic pulp heroes Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze and Remo Williams: The Destroyer. To succeed, The Predator will most likely aim to trade on the familiarity of the monster itself.

Man this ? better do some justice. I swore when I was young I was gonna make an attempt to purchase this franchise. The 2nd Predator is GOAT.

That Predator movie with Adrian Brody was ? horrible.
I really fell asleep watching that ? . -
Predator is good regardless, but the human character being hunted is what makes or breaks it for me.
Nothing about Adrien Brody is tough...or resembles tough...he looks like a famished rooster -
The one with Brody was pretty dope fu k why y'all neegas talking bout
-
@Vader.. man i dont get the appeal behind it... i saw it several times being a predator fan.. ? was just ? awful to me .. brody was wack and Lauren fishburne was on larry holmes status..
i liked the concept.. waking up sky diving.. the predators hunting them on another planet, there being different types of predators, and they beefing.... all good ideas, but it just wasnt a good movie IMO.. and i think @copper hit the nail on the head... brody was a bad choice for the lead..

Them Alpha Predators was the best part about that movie. I found it dumb AF the Yakuza dude was able to ? one with just a katana slice. Regular Predators before that were harder to ? so I know these Deebo Predators wouldn't have died that easy. Idk how you replicate the tone of the OG one but that's what they need to try.

Why woulf you find that dumb?
The falconer had only shoulder armor...
early era katana made in japan and left untouched in the scabard have been known to gravely wound any and all that dare touch its blade.
Totally believable ouy of everything in that movie.
Cant believe you found that to be an exaggeration of reality and not adrien brody surviving opening his chute at 50 feet...
But compare that to the damage that a regular Predator took in part two. ? ate multiple shotgun blasts and damn near got his whole arm cut off but was still ? ? up. -

Can't generalize like this. I like the first Predator and Predators too. IDK about Bridy was I was too much into the atmosphere and concept. I never even paid much attention to him. It's called acting. Arnold would ? his pants in front of a real life Predator as would all of us. -
The co-writer AND director of this movie.
I don't think there's anything to worry about here. All the Predator movies minus the crossovers were on point and this one is from the guy who script doctored and featured in the original. He also created Lethal Weapon. He'd know a thing or two about how to handle this I'd say. -
I'm just glad he's not retconning any of the previous movies. It's just another sequel not a reboot.

More character development in these few min than most movies today could do in 90 min.

You could thank Shane Black for that. -

Only problem with Predators was them short ass mexicans playing the alien. The black man set too great an example in the first 2 with his 7 foot frame. Now THAT was an intimidating looking dude.
R.I.P Kevin Peter Hall and R.I.P. Stan Winston -

Question: when the yautja shot Dutch with its laser cannon why didn't it do as much damage as it did on Poncho and Blaine ? It killed them both and blew a hole through Blaine, but it only seemed to burn Dutch's arm. Why was that ?
Cause they were a buncha slackjawed ? !
While Dutch was the true sexual tyronassaurus.

Poncho took a headshot and it only looked like he took a bullet round to the head. Meanwhile in later movies the plasma cannon has completely obliterated a person's head. Completely exploded Lawrence Fish. Think it's just a movie inconsistency.
