The people he was talking to needed to hear that speech on that platform....in there next interviews they can't run from what was said on that stage and how they plan to respond without being held accountable
-
I often look for leadership from rappers and other entertainers.
In all seriousness simple ? as not making mistake babies can improve black communities dramatically. -
I'm getting ? tired of people stealing my ?
-
lol at the nigs in here that dont know about Jesse Williams
it aint all talk...dude is about that activist life. -
? asking what's next:
Buy from black own
Stop supporting white artists/establishment
Stop spending your money in communities that wouldn't spend money in your community.
Starting educating your kids/cousins/relatives about black empowerment/history/finance/life etc.
Most folks don't know that Africa wasn't always the name for the continent Africa. If this is the 1st time you hearing/knowing this, then it's time to start reading more about your history and this world.
Dude speech was on point.
Stop supporting kids going to these racist schools/universities/high schools to say their getting a good education and to be 'accepted'
Tons of HBCUs
Stop taking your kids out of black schools and putting them in private schools just to say you have your kid(s) in a private school when at the end of the day 2+2 = 4 every where and the ? they learn in private schools won't be used in every day life when they turn of age, and when one says the black schools are unfunded, go down to the school and donate a few dollars/time. Paint don't cost that much.
It's a lot of things black folks can do, The speech needs to be said everyday from folks. It's just folks who always states "What's Next" are the ones that haven't done anything but listen to the speech. Thinking ? will happened in the next 24 hours. If you asked them what black business they've supported last week, they couldn't tell you.
It's plenty of things you can do that can be a start.
Bob-spotter is a good app, that allows you to located black businesses in your area.
A dude just opened a business like an Air BNB, support that. I'm pretty sure there are black clothing/restaurants/black lawn services/black barbers/black this and black that. -
Great speech from dude BUT I sooner how his mom was thinking being that she's white.
Well, if she's not a ? she's a proud parent.

dedicating our lives to getting money just to give it right back, for someone’s brand on our body. When we spent centuries praying with brands on our bodies. And now we pray to get paid for brands on our bodies.
So i can see why you've been touched. But, you KNOW you're not to be taken seriously. You dont know any better. In b4 the hollow reply about nothing to do with the topic, complete with 'lol'
Im more taken aback by the dickriders who woulda been positive in here but now they jumping on the 'ok, and' bandwagon. Now somehow this speech is NOT a good thing. How about we can walk AND chew gum. You can live that life AND talk about it. Both serve a purpose

Exactly
Dude puts in work, not just talk
And these fraudulent ass ? are actual exposing the fact THEY aren't about that life,
while demanding other people to be
I'll suggest you just sit down and shut the ? up,if you THAT igorant as to who is out in the street doing what -

The first question they asked everyone on the red carpet was 'and who are you wearing.....'

I think I heard one chick (Beyonce's artist) said she was wearing something a dude (black) out of Harlem or The Bronx had made for her.
? was sad as ? listening to them chicks and dudes describe their attire. Ppl spend their money how they want but ? , support your own 1st.

Yeah the people saying its just a speech don't know dudes history of speaking out and actually being out in the world doing the ? he's talking about
-
? was powerful and and the perfect platform...hopefully people take heed and get involvedSo what’s gonna happen is we’re going to have equal rights and justice in our country, or we will restructure their function, and ours.
The burden of the brutalized is not to comfort the bystander. That’s not our job, alright? Stop with all that. If you have a critique for the resistance—for our resistance—then you’d better have an established record of critique of our oppression. If you have no interest… If you have no interest in equal rights for black people, then do not make suggestions to those who do. Sit down.

so how do yall support people like dude......
only wait to clap your hands when he speaks....
im curious -
Yeah the people saying its just a speech don't know dudes history of speaking out and actually being out in the world doing the ? he's talking about
Trust me
They the ones that will say...""Why come I never heard of him and if he is THAT active why isn't it being reported on??""
But yet....if what he was doing WAS widely reported on by mainstream news outlets
they'll THEN switch it up....and smack their lips and say ? like: ""Well he only doing that because...blah,blah,blah" -

Tell us first how you support people like him before pointing the finger.. -

What is a good black owned business that make good affordable and quality shirts that doesnt have a ? name or plaster their ugly logo everywhere
-
The speech was just pandering and preaching to the choir. However, like some have already noted, dude does a lot of good with his actions. That's what we should be promoting and applauding.
-
lol at the nigs in here that dont know about Jesse Williams

no lie, in the BET awards thread ? was like "yeah nice speech but whats next? im tired of all this talk but no action"
this was AFTER they aired a 3-5 minute video about his activist work. this was AFTER the presenter announced he was this years recipient of the humanitarian award
but ? was STILL saying "yeah nice speech but whats the plan? is he gonna follow through with all that talk?"
yall so quick so scoff at a dude who's actually putting work in. it makes me wonder what you ? are doing for your people that makes you so unimpressed with Jesse's efforts -

You find his social media handles and donate time and money.
Or you copy what he's doing and apply it to the area you're living.
Change your way of thinking and start understanding the system.
You educated your kids at a young age, relatives.
Again, you donate if you want to support him, but I don't understand why you just don't do your own thing,
There are others that are like him. Everyone just wants you to do YOUR part more so than support them.
"Everybody getting money, but using it to spend it on brands when we use to be branded ourselves"
That alone should make you change the way you're thinking when spending your dollar -

I think I liked the movie Beauty and the Beast growing up.

@gameoffeminists I see you have an affinity for being negative, either that or you have an idiosyncratic way of getting a point across. Fwiw there are several quality owned black businesses that don't fit your myopic expectations. -
s/o to the ? ass ? in the back that couldnt help it
