I'll start it off with this garbage.
Now I know everybody went plat in the 90's but c'mon, u gonna tell me 3 million people went out and bought physical copies of Everlast?
That album had hits, was crossover like Kid Rock, got played on rock radio, and was the dude from House of Pain. Not hard to see how it went multi-plat, -
I know some of you ? bought this weed plate -

Tony yayo album went hard. Matter of fact everybody's G-UNIT debut went hard.

I didn't hear Yayo's album but I think a lot of G-Unit's success was because they had GOAT production. Same with The ROC.
GOAT production can save an otherwise subpar MC.
I can remember when Beg For Mercy was out. I bumped it, not necessarily because of the lyrics but because the production and hooks were dope. The rhymes/lyrics were cool but not outstanding.

The funny thing is this ? dropped in 2005. It didn't go plat until around 5 years later... At least the other albums mentioned went plat within months of there release at least! Yayo goes down as G-Units first L album sales wise. -
I admit I haven't heard silk album.
But dude was always offbeat -
NO ONE liked this album when it dropped including me & I'm a Mobb Deep loyalist. Nothin felt right about it & sales wise it was a flop at the time. GUnit stans allegedly changed the Wikipedia page to say it went plat but it's barely close to gold.. -
Smh -
