I need some labs to do after I read each chapter -
How did you guys study for your ccnp?
For CCNA I would read each chapter and then do a lab based on the material covered in that chapter at the end of it -
I'm doing substituting right now until I land another job. That cable tech job was robbing me of my time and resources.

basically. i practiced all of the commands in the book/ per chapter. then made my own labs
if youre doing ccna/ ccnp r&S i recommend:
how to master ccna by rene molenaar. it helped me a lot and even though i didnt do R&S his switching book helped me a lot too

I can't believe I've been missing this thread. It's been awhile since I've been on AHH but I'm trying to get into Network Security. I was hoping you brothers can help hold me accountable so I can get this done. Been trying to break into IT but I realize I need experience.

Damn everybody's going into Network Security
-
I think that's where it's at for a long career. Online threats increasing daily.
-
I have a friend that started Network Security at Comcast, now he's Senior Network Security at another company. I think he's making 6 figures.

Locally. And finally getting moved to the Noc transport team permanently with a nice little pay increase. Only thing though is they dont deal with Cisco to much and more of Alcatel and Nokia routers -
I haven't had time to set it up yet. -

Is 31 too old to start IT? A lot of things have happened but I'm ready to jump in. I just have to figure that out where to start. Also, how in the world can I gain experience when most entry level I see requires that.

I might have posted this in the last IT thread. I'm starting out studying for the CCNA. Is this a good path to take to begin my cert journey. Is 31 too old to start IT? Yeah, Craigslist.
I'm worried about doing that cause I heard people be selling the hardware and it won't have the ios on it.
Or it will be the old ios that's no good for the new exams
