Watching Grantland's last Basketball Hour episode with Kobe Bryant and he says that in 2007 when he demanded a trade not only did he turn down a trade to Detroit for Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, and draft picks but he also told the Lakers his #1 option was Chicago. How would Kobe's legacy have gone if he really did get traded to the Bulls?

Depends. Chicago's coach at the time would not have been good for Kobe. Now put Kobe in Chicago RIGHT NOW , and the league would be in trouble.

probably the same for his legacy, maybe he'd be a little more liked. People don't like Kobe and they also just don't like LA.
I can't think of one athlete who did nothing illegal or detrimental to his sport that's been more hated by fans for this long in any sport.
I think another question could be: how would the bulls have looked? They would have 2 more rings now. -

Less rings. Chicago was like a lottery team back then, I think they got the number 1 pick in 08'. Would have taken him a while to build a contender and capture that magic again, if he ever did...Short answer is " much less impressive". We can't separate how much his longevity with one team and his perceived ability to "stay with a team" and make them a champion factors into where he is placed in the pantheon of basketball history. We may look at him like a Pippen rather than a poor man's Jordan. In other words a great second fiddle who "bounced around" and was never the same after his #1 left.
Bulls were a playoff team back then.......

Would have taken him a while to build a contender and capture that magic again, if he ever did...Short answer is " much less impressive".
