Taboo will be set in 1816, and introduce Hardy’s James as a believed-dead chap who returns to London after a life-changing journey to Africa. He hopes to inherit his father’s shipping empire, but will apparently find his family’s legacy to be something of a poisoned chalice.
The show – destined for the FX network, in America – is yet to announce an official start date. This first trailer has been released, though…

Checking for it on the strength of Tom Hardy. He's been going in on everything he touches for a few years now.
Trailer uninteresting af tho. -
Cant see trailer but looking out for it off the strength of hardy and to give ridley scott another chance.
-
Looks good, I wish a cable network or Netflix would have picked it up even though cinemax has the knick, and hbo has game of thrones. I still am going to watch it.
-
pass on this one
-
This doesn't seem interesting to me
-
bump
-
Tom hardy and ridley scott...deserves at least 2 episodes of my time.
-
Not big into shows but I might get into this one, ? looks good
-
Downloaded ep 1 couple days ago. Gone watch later
-
I caught it when it premiered on Saturday on the BBC...
I dunno how I feel about it. I didn't get to finish it though.
I'll give it another watch -
1st esp was ok, carried by hardys acting.

Seen the first 2 episodes. Hardy and Jonathan Pryce are killing it. Im feeling this cast as a whole. I ? with Michael Kelly and Stephen Graham. Even got Franka Potente from the Bourne movies. They got some GOT people, Mace Tyrell and Talisa, too Didnt realize the dude playing the future King George IV is Sherlock Holmes' brother from the BBC series. Only fitting, the Delaney bro and sis about to become to the new Cersei and Jaime Lannister lol. Hardy outchea biting chunks out of dude's necks n ? . He's still traumatized about something that happened on that slave ship. Like he let them die or something. Keeps having flashbacks/nightmares about it.
FYI, the land of Nootka Sound, which is the center of the plot, was actually an important trade route with China. It was never actually disputed between Britain and the U.S., but Britain and Spain. -
I was perplexed when dude called Tom hardy a "? " with so much conviction. Didn't know what to think.
? cool tho. -

Perplexed? That was the vocabulary used in those days and it was for added effect cos Delaney emigrated to Africa... before the story begins
Anyways I caught it up Monday night on the BBC iPlayer and it's dope... I didn't give it much attention first time around. Hardy killed it. -
I was just trying to b... nvm ? .

Damn, still nobody's ? with this? ? is getting live. Delaney's (Hardy) Dad's widow is in the picture now and legally owns half of everything, including Nootka sound. The Crown set her up and tried to ? her into signing her half of Nootka sound over to them. Delaney's got the Crown and East India Trading company turning on each other. He's even got the Americans sending dudes to ? him over this damn land only to end up like this...
The only thing they're losing me on is the ? angle. Dude LITERALLY possessed his sister's ? with some African voodoo. Her husband found out they're still ? . Now, next week's episode is a duel to the death. -
Just finished episode 3 last night...one of the better shows I've seen in a while.
-
I like the sow, it just seems some of the episodes are so up and down, one minute I'll be real into it, then the next scene I'll be fighting to stay awake. Can't wait to see how the story unfolds though.
-
Anybody got a link to stream it or am I able to check on demand?
Edit: Nvm I found it. Ima give it a go tomorrow -
Just finished the first episode and im into it.
-
Tried the first episode but couldn't finish it...not for me
-
haven't watched yet. but yea, I get the sense its an acquired taste
-
Watched all 4, not crazy about it but intrigued enough to see where it goes

This is for me was an instant favourite. Very good show. I love that grimy old Victorian theme it has to it. Delaney also stay one step ahead of his enemies.

that's why I got into it in the first place but it lacks authenticity to me
