I sincerely believe that certain rappers get paid to specifically rap about certain things.
Like I think Eminem signed a contact that specifically states that he absolutely must rap about ? stuff.
I also think Canibus signed a contract that specifically states that he absolutely must use long words.
Because if you look at Eminem and Canibus's early work and follow the direction they've turned it doesn't make any sense.
Eminem and Canibus were both ill MCs when they first came out circa 98/99. But rather then rap about ordinary stuff they rap about stuff that you'd have to pay me to rap about.
I know it sounds like a ridiculous conspiracy theory but if you really think about it, it makes sense that they're contractually obligated to rap about that stuff. -
