St. Vincent announces “Fear The Future” tour
By Danette Chavez @bonmotvivant
Though a release date for her new album remains elusive, St. Vincent is preparing to tour Japan, Europe, and the U.S. later this year. The “Fear The Future” tour comes two years after the indie-rock goddess’ last stint on the road, and the very welcome news was shared via press release and this endearingly quirky announcement video:

St. Vincent, a.k.a Annie Clark, made her directorial debut earlier this year, in the anthology horror film ? . She also contributed to the 7-inch to benefit Planned Parenthood, but fans are still eager for a full release. But it sounds like it’ll be worth the wait—Clark (sort of) told Fact Magazine that “especially with where we are in the world” the album “[had] to be the best thing that I’ve ever done by leaps and bounds.”
The tour kicks off this August at the Summer Sonic Festival, with a two-month break between gigs. But then the Marry Me artist will hit up London, Dublin, Paris, Detroit, Louisville, Brooklyn, and more. Fan pre-sale begins 6/27, with general sales opening 6/30; for more info, head here.

Damn right, but having Jack Antonoff producing on this new album isn't very encouraging. Still though, from Marry Me to her self-titled she hasn't let me down yet. -
St. Vincent Shares New Song “New York”: Listen
It’s Annie Clark’s first new song in two years
St. Vincent is back. Annie Clark has released a new song called “New York.” See the cover art and listen to it below. It’s her first official release since 2015’s “Teenage Talk.” Last year, she debuted new music when she performed at David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption. She also covered the Rolling Stones’ “Emotional Rescue” for the film A Bigger Splash. Earlier this year, Clark made her directorial debut with her short film The Birthday Party. She also appeared with John Legend and Zach Galifianakis in a video promoting the benefit compilation “7-inches for Planned Parenthood.” St. Vincent will be embarking on her “Fear the Future” tour in October. Her previous album St. Vincent was released in 2014.

St. Vincent Shares Colorful “New York” Video: Watch
“I think Annie’s New York is the New York of my dreams—one that is blurry and fractured, dreamy and flat,” says director Alex Da Corte
St. Vincent has shared a new video for her song “New York.” The colorful clip was directed by Alex Da Corte and features Annie Clark in various surreal scenes, including on a couch with a swan. Da Corte said in a press release, “I think Annie’s New York is the New York of my dreams—one that is blurry and fractured, dreamy and flat. It is the Toontown to my Hollywood. It is beautiful but slightly out of reach.” Watch St. Vincent’s “New York” music video below. Clark discussed her next album in a recent interview, revealing that it’s “all about sex and drugs and sadness.” Earlier this month, Clark dissected “New York” on an episode of “Song Exploder.”

St. Vincent Announces New Album MASSEDUCTION, Shares New Song “Los Ageless”: Listen
Annie Clark’s new studio LP is out October 13
St. Vincent has announced her next album. It’s called MASSEDUCTION, and it’s out October 13 via Loma Vista. It follows Annie Clark’s last studio album, 2014’s St. Vincent, and it features her previously released single “New York.” Listen to a new song from the record, “Los Ageless,” below. The album features Kamasi Washington, Jenny Lewis, Doveman, and production from Sounwave. In a mock press conference announcing the album on Facebook, she said “literally the only point” of the record is it’s about love, and stressed that the title is pronounced “Mass Seduction,” not “Mass Education. (“I did toy with calling the record Ass Education,” she joked.)

In interviews leading up to the album’s announcement, Annie Clark described the record as being “all about sex and drugs and sadness.” St. Vincent’s “Fear the Future” tour kicks off in October. She recently contributed a Beatles cover to a new Tiffany campaign.
