this ? got me heated... Why do they even keep making these slave flicks? Its like whites ENJOY reenacting their treachery and our suffering every few years, I swear
I just want to give a big ? u very much to @matt and matt jr aka @pr specifically for consciously perpetuating the same racism, oppression and hatred on the IC as John Tibeats and the other evil slave massas did in this movie for the sake of LOL reaction. I was in the "stop making slave movies camp", however this movie is epic and the story needed to be told.
i have altered my view slightly. these movies should be made, but other stories need to b told.
I would watch a Nat Turner movie if McQueen is directing. I would watch a Maroons movie if Spike got on board.
the narrative needs to b one of fight and perseverance not merely victimization. thats why I liked the movie. it was very intense. -

Brad Pitt assisted with getting the movie green lighted, donating money into the films, and helping McQueen get into Hollywood; instead of being an independent film maker.

It's says a lot when they make these fictional white heroes for these type of movies, but won't use the real white people from that time that were against slavery.

I tell people straight, I don't watch all that slave ? man. Its not healthy to watch nor is it healthy to actually re-enact these thiings.These actors end up distraught,drugged up,and out of their minds.
