Calm your emotions. If you think every major and college sport is rigged, what would be your interest in a sports forum? -

TV ratings are down period. Not just football ratings.
The number of people watching TV is falling off a cliff

It seems like people just aren't watching TV anymore.
A report from Ad Age on Wednesday paints a bleak picture of Tuesday's overnight TV ratings, which come during one of the industry's most important weeks of the year as new shows are rolled out on the major networks.
Ad Age, citing figures from Nielsen, reported that every returning drama that aired Tuesday night saw viewers decline by double digits while debuts were a "mixed bag."
But aside from the performance of individual shows, the number of people using TV in the coveted 18-to-49 demographic was down 8% against the same time last year, and for the first two nights this week usage is off 10%.
In August, we highlighted this chart from analysts at Pacific Crest that showed the declined in cable subscribers, and the disappointing ratings from this week confirm that interest in TV is not what it used to be

? cable companies
Kodi gang!

Using star players as decoys, flags for celebrations.....horrendous playcalling. I can guess 80 percent of a teams playcalling. Excessive flags.....

Crackers stopped watchn bcuz of kap

Everything declining.
Plus. It's all offense and no hitting.
That's why ppl like football. Because of the hitting. -
To many damn flags

For real, I guess they thought this 'player safety' ? was gonna make ratings jump. These a bunch of grown ass men, they know the risks invovled with the game, if they scared to take the hits don't put on the pads, stop babying these ? . -

Red zone made me feel this way unless it's Monday night football or my team, I've always been more into the NBA then NFL anyway but I gotta agree with beta I lost some interest -
I don't watch as much as I use to
-
I can grab highlights from the internet: nfl.com, vines, twitter, and youtube...no need to watch a full game unless its a primetime match up, and i usually go to sleep after halftime since i work in the morning...nfl need to embrace the internet of things like cisco says...they just want the commercial and ad money, but beer companies and car companies are marketing to only 1/3 of the nfl audience so theres the issue, dont blame the nfl viewers..white people with garages and back yards arent the only people watching on sundays...the nfl dont care if we watch- the beer, home improvement, and car companies do, and they tired of paying top dollar for their ad spot, so they reaching to get a cheaper deal, nfl dont fold, then maybe we can get commercials that spread across the different races/genders

Updates a month later?

Trash teams, you have a few good teams and everybody else is mediocre to ? , thus creating bad matchups that nobody wants to see
-
Yeap a bunch of contributing factors that have all been mentioned. I for one have watched football my whole life and have cable but my TV stays on HDMI 1 or 2 on some type of streaming device.

Terrible refs & rules...the fact that we all know who Dean Blandino is
Make a catch a catch & stop showing favoritism = problem fixed -
-If team below .500 then they shouldn't be on prime time.
-cut the Thursday night football games
-bring back the touchdown celebrations
-
Yep they can penalize a TD celebration but miss obvious calls that affect games. The Bills/Seahawks game was pathetic. I understand the Primetime scheduling b/c it's based on projections but cut the Thurs. As a gambler I like the Thurs night bets b/c it's every easy every week but as a viewer it's terrible. Goddell needs to go too.
